To bring more business to Google’s Chrome OS platform, Google and Citrix had made partnership in April 2014, and now has launched the latest version of their joint product named Citrix receiver for the Chrome OS, reports Tech Crunch.
According to the Citrix’s website, “Citrix Receiver is a client software that provides access to your XenDesktop and XenApp installations. With its free download you can access applications, desktops and data easily and securely from any device, including smartphones, tablets, PCs and Macs.”
Its other features include, receiver that can access virtual apps and desktops as well as use Google Cloud Print, support for direct SSL connections, monitoring with HDX Insight and also provides integration with Chrome OS’s clipboard across remote and local applications.
Citrix Receiver can be downloaded via 9 platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows Desktop,BlackBerry 10, Linux, Windows 8/RT, BlackBerry PlayBook, Mac and Windows phone. For installing Receiver, Users will follow step-by-step guidelines for the device or operating system they want to run. According to Tech Crunch both companies teamed up to offer businesses a discount for Citrix’s AppDNA application management service.
After installing Citrix Receiver and to get started with it, users need to open an appropriate URL in their browser to authenticate and use applications and virtual desktops. They need to configure their account by entering email or a server address to authenticate with Receiver and use applications and virtual desktops.
